Re: Stemenhance Pills Query

This post appeared at: http://www.apparelyzed.com/forums/topic/17483-stemenhance-pills-query/

I created an account at the forum and made a post, however my account was deleted.

Once again, my response was along the same lines:

* I'm sorry to hear about the spinal injury to your brother.
* If anyone has told him StemEnhance will help his condition, it will not.
* StemEnhance will do one thing and one thing only, trigger the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow.
* Where they go from there depends on the body of the individual taking it.

I'm very much against giving people false hope and in making false claims, but once again it seems there is no opportunity for someone to make logical counter claims against those saying the product is snake oil and a scam.

I'd say, read the study for yourself, or even better the book on the subject written by Christian Drapeau, Cracking the Stem Cell Code.

Re: StemEnhance from Stemtech.

This post appeared at: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?p=725577

I was able to have 2 posts published (post 1, post 2), but no links and my subsequent post was not published. It seems many of these forum owners/moderators are willing to allow negative comments, but will not allow much in the way of rebuttal.

In most cases, the person writing has done little if any research into the product or the company.

Here is my final response to this thread:

(Taken from Primordial Food, by Christian Drapeau):

Nontoxicity of AFA
"In the 1960s and ’70s, concerns were raised regarding the possible neurotoxicity of AFA. At that time, a few samples of what was thought to be AFA were taken from lakes in New Hampshire and Europe and were shown to contain neurotoxins.

Classic AFA grows in filamentous colonies about the size of a small blade of grass. In the original scientific literature, the toxic samples of AFA were described as “atypical non-colony forming AFA.” In other words, the toxic strains that were originally identified and classified as AFA were not typical of AFA.

These few reports created the perception that AFA was a toxic algae species. However, virtually all samples of AFA taken throughout the world have failed to contain any neurotoxins.

Indeed, toxicity in AFA was the exception rather than the norm. In Klamath Lake, nearly ten years of intense testing has failed to reveal the presence of any neurotoxins in its AFA. In 1998, the opinion among scientists was that AFA did not contain neurotoxins and that the original samples that had been identified as AFA were likely another species. Indeed, the boundary between AFA and some Anabaena species can at times be unclear, mostly pertaining to strains isolated and cultivated in laboratory. Anabaena spp. is known to produce various kinds of neurotoxins.

Recently, a team of scientists at Wright State University used recent advances in genetics to establish if the original toxic samples of AFA were genetically identical to the common strains of AFA shown to be nontoxic. Li et al. established that all the toxic strains of AFA were genetically dissimilar to the nontoxic strains and most likely belonged to the Anabaena genera. Further work is in progress in order to clearly identify these original samples and properly rename them. The Wright State University study confirms that AFA growing in Klamath Lake is nontoxic."

"Stories that Klamath Lake is polluted come from the fact that at certain seasons, fish die from oxygen deprivation due to the changes brought on by massive algal growth. During AFA blooms, the water of Klamath Lake can reach a pH of 11, and dissolved oxygen can go under 3 ppm. This can be deadly for fish."

Adult Stem Cell Enhancers the Latest Equine Supplements

If you've been looking for the latest equine supplements, then this article is for you. We'll look at the latest breakthrough for horses, adult stem cell enhancers. We'll look at what they are, what they do and most importantly, how they can help maintain your horses health.

First, let's look at what adult stem cell enhancers are. With the recent popularity and medical promise surrounding stem cells, there have been many researchers working to find the best way to utilize them. One such researcher is Christian Drapeau, who's work with algae led to the discovery that a concentrated form triggered the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow. Other studies involving mice have shown that adult stem cells from the bone marrow constitute the renewal system of the body and putting the two together meant that the category of adult stem cell enhancers was born.

Next, let's look at what they do. Adult stem cell enhancers do one thing and one thing only -- trigger the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow. Where these stem cells go from here, depends on the individual, but they are responsible for repairing and renewing the various tissues of the body. We are all aware that are cells are constantly under threat and require replacement, what the stem cells do is just that. If there is an injury or other condition, then there is an extra need for repair in addition to the normal breakdown and renewal cycle.

Finally, let's look at how they can help maintain your horses health. Since horses are also placental mammals, they have the exact same system of renewal being adult stem cells from their bone marrow. Horses also have the added disadvantage of their weight. This puts on great pressure on their legs and joints and many of us have had the sad task of having to put a horse down. Add to that arthritis and other common ailments and older horses can really be in a great deal of pain on a daily basis.

It's little wonder that many horse owners who have given their older horses a stem cell enhancer supplement have noticed remarkable changes in their horses. And there is nothing more to it, other than adult stem cells being released from the bone marrow, which then move around and renew the cells in the body which require repair.

So, there you have it, some good information about the latest in equine supplements, adult stem cell enhancers. We've looked at what they are, what they do and most importantly, what they can do to help maintain your horse's health. We've learned from recent studies that adult stem cells from the bone marrow are the way the body renews itself, so it's wonderful to know we can now also share this with our horses.

To learn more about the latest Equine Supplements to help maintain Horse Health, please read our special report: The Natural Way to Activate Your Horse's Renewal System.

Adult Stem Cells and the Bone Marrow

If you've always wondered about how bone marrow creates adult stem cells, then this is the article for you. We'll look at the bone structure, the bone marrow and finally how adult stem cells are released. By the end, you'll have a great understanding of just what happens with adult stem cells and our bone marrow.

First, let's look at the bone structure. Many people believe the bones have very little blood circulation, but this is incorrect. There is voluminous blood flow and our bones contain both compact and spongy structure. The compact bone gives strength, while the spongy bone contains the marrow.

Next, let's look at the bone marrow itself. Ask anyone what color bone marrow is and they'll most likely say yellow. This is not completely true. Children have only red bone marrow, it's only as we age that the red marrow is displaced by fat storing yellow marrow. Adults still have red marrow in the ribs, vertebrae, pelvis and skull. This red marrow is where our adult stem cells are located and as we get less red marrow as we age, this explains the drop in stem cell production. It is estimated however, that our bone marrow contains around 150 million adult stem cells.

Finally, let's look at how bone marrow stem cells are released. Generally speaking in the body, cells divide through symmetrical division whereby a cell creates 2 identical cells which contain the original DNA. With the bone marrow however, asymmetrical division occurs. This is where a cell creates 2 different cells -- 1 with copies of the DNA and the other with the original DNA. The copied DNA stem cell leaves the bone marrow, while the original DNA stem cell remains behind. This process is known as immortal strand hypothesis and ensures the number of adult stem cells always remains constant in the bone marrow.

So there you have it, a short guide explaining how the bone marrow creates adult stem cells. We've looked at bone structure, the bone marrow and finally how adult stem cells are released from the bone marrow. The most important things to remember are that this process is natural but is reduced with age and that supporting the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow will not reduce their numbers.

Algae, the World’s Most Unappreciated Plant

For something that is so significant to life as we know it, the humble algae receives very little appreciation.

In salt water, algae is often referred to as sea weed, while in fresh water, algae is often harshly called “pond scum.” We have a collective attitude problem towards algae, but as this article will show, your life depends on it.

Why Algae is so important

Perhaps the biggest reason is oxygen. Half or more of the oxygen we’re breathing comes from the algae in the world. In fact, we can go back 3.5 billion years ago when blue green algae or cyano bacteria, started phytosynthesis.

The oxygen levels rose, allowing the animals to come out of the water, but there had to be things on land for them to eat. And there were, from algae.

The blue-green algae literally conquered the land and created the flora we see today, so in that respect the the evolution of all the land plants can be attributed to algae.

Algae a rich source of nutrients

Some of us intake nutrients directly from supplements such as AFA concentrates, but all of us intake nutrients indirectly from fish.

We’ve all heard about the benefits of omega 3 fish oils, but many people are unaware that fish do not produce the oils. Instead they eat the algae which is full of omega 3 oils and then we eat them.

You may also be unaware that NASA has been using algae since the 1960s to help the astronauts recover from the rigors of space travel. With all the g-forces, their brains are subjected to shocks and shaking and the nutrients in algae are ideal for repairing the fatty mass that is our brain.

The algae, stem cell link

Just when you thought there was nothing else algae could do, we find out a concentrated extract of whole AFA (blue-green algae) has been scientifically proven to increase the number of adult stem cells from the bone marrow.

The adult stem cells, which are the building blocks of our body and vital to renewal and repair, can then travel around in the blood stream and go to the areas of the body where they are needed the most.

If you’re one of the 76 million baby boomers, it’s highly likely the area that’s in some need and that you’re most concerned about will be your brain. The good news is, between the omega 3 and the adult stem cells released as a result, you are in a good position to maintain healthy brain function.

Fact is, the humble algae provides us with the oxygen we breath, the omega 3 oils we need and now stimulates the release of adult stem cells from our bone marrow vital to cellular renewal. It’s high time we changed our attitude and embraced this wonderful stuff.

Great Hope Offered by Adult Stem Cell Injection clinics

This article looks at the procedures and benefits of the treatments offered by Adult Stem Cell injection clinics.

In recent times, there have been many news stories about patients visiting clinics for stem cell injection therapy. These clinics are located in various parts of the world, but the main interest has been on the results these so called 'experimental' treatments have been getting.

Not to be confused with embryonic stem cells (ESC) taken from embryos, the adult stem cells used in the clinics are collected from the patients bone marrow over a period of weeks. Stored in a controlled environment until a large enough number have been collected, they are then re-injected into the patient at the target areas.

Many of these clinics have had excellent results with a whole myriad of conditions including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), heart disease, spinal conditions, even cancers. It seems about the only drawback is the cost : upwards of $15,000 for each injection of between 1-5 million stem cells and the time: treatment takes between 6-8 weeks .

There have also been several cases involving dogs and horses receiving injections to help with conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia and lymphoma. Understandably, many pet owners have been over joyed.

Either way you look at it, these results offer great hope for many sufferers of these conditions, but the high prices and time consuming treatments keep it out of reach for many. This has led to some cases of patients taking risks with their health at clinics not adhering to stringent professional conditions and procedures.

What isn't so wide spread just yet is the alternative. A recent peer-reviewed clinical study has proven that a patented concentrate of AFA (aphanizomenon flos-aquae) extract showed an increase of 25% in the number of circulating stem cells after 1 hour.

For the average person, this equates to around 3-4 million cells -- well and truly comparable with an injection -- but safely, naturally and without the need to travel anywhere, spend thousands of dollars or take several months off.

The Groundbreaking Science Behind Adult Stem Cells

This article looks at 2 studies done involving adult stem cells and the natural renewal system of the body.

It was not that long ago the concept of bone marrow adult stem cells actually being the natural renewal system of the body, was simply a fanciful idea. Researchers were reluctant ant to get involved with something akin to science fiction, however the last few years has seen a dramatic turnaround.

One of the earliest studies was by a team led by Dr Diane Krauss. The aim of the study was simply to prove on thing -- can one single stem cell reconstitute the entire blood system?

In theory it was easy, but in reality it was much more difficult. The team persevered and came up with something ingenious. They knew that the only cells that will home to the bone marrow are stem cells, so by injecting bone marrow cells into the blood, a few hours later they will end up in the bone marrow.

Dr Krauss irradiated female mice and injected male bone marrow cells. After a few days, the team collected stem cells from the bone marrow of the recipient mice and a single one of these stem cells was injected into another irradiated female. This gave them the condition of a female mouse with blood cells damaged by radiation containing one single stem cell in their bodies.

In a few weeks, Dr Krauss and her team got their answer. The entire blood system of the female mouse was back and they had definitively proven that a single bone marrow derived stem cell can reconstitute the entire blood system.

There was also some more to this experiment. Since the stem cell had come from a male and XY DNA, they were able to identify the Y chromosome in the female mouse. It appeared in various tissues such as the intestine, liver, lung and skin. This revealed that stem cells from the bone marrow can in fact travel to the various tissues and organs of the body and become new cells.

In this case, the stem cell used to regenerate the entire blood system was from a donor male, so the question asked, would the same migration and renewal happen if the stem cells were the animal's own?

Whilst Dr Krauss was doing her study, in 2001, Dr Orlic and his team and the National Institute of Health set out to answer that question. They stimulated the release of stem cells in animals who had suffered heart attacks. Dr Orlic found that when significantly increasing the number of stem cells for a few days, scarring of the heart tissue was eliminated and almost normal heart function was restored in as few as 27 days.

This release of stem cells from the bone marrow was enough for them to travel to the heart, migrate into the heart tissue and become healthy new cells of that tissue. When you look at these amazing results, it really makes you wonder why the scientific community took so long to wake to the fact that bone marrow stem cell release is a natural process and this natural process is actually the renewal system of the body.

The secret about Adult Stem Cells

This article looks at adult stem cells and some secret information you may not have known.

Most people have heard something about stem cells. Unfortunately most of it is regarding embryonic stem cells which are highly controversial and have sparked an ethical debate. Adult stem cells on the other hand are naturally present in the bone marrow and have been there since birth. These stem cells are the body's natural renewal system and scientific studies have shown that the more we have circulating in our bloodstream, the greater our health and wellness.

In what's regarded as a major scientific breakthrough, a peer-reviewed clinical study has proven that a patented concentrate of AFA (aphanizomenon flos-aquae) extract showed an increase of 25% in the number of circulating stem cells after 1 hour.

This study presents great hope as the body uses stem cells to create new cells in the tissues and organs in the constant process of renewal. This AFA concentrate supports the body's ability to rebuild and repair. The addition of millions of stem cells in the blood stream could very well be the most important wellness breakthrough of our times.

Everyone can benefit from this AFA concentrate from younger people to the elderly. It is also tremendous for those who engage in sports, regardless if they are professional athletes or weekend amateurs. Athletes have a great need for recovery and renewal and boosting the body's natural process allows them to remain in optimal condition.

A great example of this is an athlete in the 65 years age category competing at the US masters games. He ran a mile in five minutes 12 seconds which shattered a 35-year-old record. He was taking the AFA concentrate and credits it for this and his other gold-medal performances. Many athletes have blasted through strength training plateaus as well. Optimal athletic performance requires optimal renewal and an increase number of circulating stem cells will help the body to do this.

With all the research pointing towards adult stem cells as being the most helpful, this clinically proven AFA concentrate is the safe and natural way to engage the body's natural system of renewal.

Now you can help your body to recover after exercise with Adult Stem Cells

This article looks at the role of adult stem cells from the bone marrow in athletic exercise and recovery.

Many Doctor's agree that one of the key elements of optimal health is regular exercise. What many may not be aware of however, is the continual process of breakdown and renewal that occurs from doing any form of exercise -- especially athletic type of training. Exercise in itself is fine, but the key to maintaining optimal health is to balance the breakdown and the renewal of the body.

Thankfully, after many years of research, the scientific community has discovered that the body's ability to renew itself is dependent upon it's ability to release adult stem cells from the bone marrow. Put simply, the greater your body's ability to release adult stem cells from the bone marrow, the more efficient your body will be at renewing itself and maintaining optimal health.

Our bodies are designed to naturally balance the breakdown and renewal process. But when this process gets out of balance problems are more likely to occur. This is more evident with athletes, where the constant demands for renewal are more complicated as they are doing more to breakdown. Getting this balance right therefore, is critical if athletes want to improve their performances -- regardless of whether they are serious or amateur athletes.

As we've seen for athletes bodies, they require additional support to maintain the breakdown and recovery balance. Luckily, this additional support is available in the form of a patented concentrate of Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA). In a published clinical study this AFA concentrate has been shown to naturally increase the release of adult stem cells from the bone marrow.

Whether you are a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, it's safe to say at some point you have experienced muscle soreness after exercise or sport. Benefits of being active aside, this muscle pain is called "delayed onset muscle soreness" (DOMS) and is a result of the muscle fibers being torn. Additionally, the soreness can be attributed to swelling in a muscle. Either way, the body is indicating that it needs to repair itself.

The extent of this tearing and also the soreness felt will depend on both the duration and type of exercise being performed. Any movement the body isn't used to or hasn't done for a while can lead to delayed onset muscle soreness. A good example is playing golf or throwing a ball if you haven't done either recently. You limp into work on Monday because of these microscopic tears, but the real result is loss of strength, flexibility and power. The good news is, as the body recovers by repairing the tears we become stronger.

The speed and effectiveness at which the body can recover will greatly influence whether or not an athlete can train without getting injured. As we've seen, support from the AFA concentrate will provide a boost to the body's natural renewal system and provide bone marrow derived adult stem cells to assist with repair. This natural boost is incredibly valuable for athletes on any level who wish to improve their recovery whilst building strength and stamina at the same time.

What everybody should know about Cardiovascular Health and Adult Stem Cells

This article examines the link scientific studies have found between cardiovascular health and adult stem cells.

Over the last 30 years, with reduced cholesterol and an emphasis on increased physical activity, cardiovascular health has improved. There is still work to be done however, as the World Health Organization predicts almost 400,000 Americans will die of coronary disease in 2010. Fortunately, Research scientists have discovered that the number of circulating adult stem cells in the blood stream is beneficial for good health. Even better are the recent studies that have shown the more adult stem cells circulating in the blood, the better cardiovascular health will be.

This article will examine a few of these studies in order for you to understand the health benefits of naturally increasing the release of adult stem cells into the blood stream.

Vasa, et, al (2001) discovered that people with poor cardiovascular health have less endothelial progenitor cells (EPC’s) in the blood stream than those with good cardiovascular health. EPC's are certain type of stem cell that can create new blood vessels. The study showed that EPC's taken from people with poor cardiovascular health had less ability to migrate into tissues. The Vasa study also found that people who smoked had fewer EPC's in the blood stream.

Schmidt-Lucke et al (2004) conducted an experiment where 120 individuals (43 control and 77 at risk of cardiovascular health problems) had the number of EPC's in their blood stream measured. The subjects were observed for a period of 10 months and the Schmidt-Lucke study concluded that cardiovascular health problems were linked to a reduced number of EPC's in the blood stream.

Werner et al (2005) conducted a more extensive study where 19 individuals had the number of EPC's in the blood stream measured and were observed for one year. The study showed the individuals with more circulating EPC's had fewer cardiovascular health problems than the individuals with less circulating EPC's -- who did experience cardiovascular events.

Because of these recent studies, scientists understand the link between a greater number of circulating adult stem cells and better cardiovascular health. Essentially, poor circulation is a lack of oxygen. When oxygen is lacking, the tissue releases compounds for two tasks. One, to attract EPC's to the tissue and two, to convert EPC's into new capillary cells. We can conclude then, that a tissue lacking oxygen triggers a process where circulating adult stem cells travel to the tissue and become new capillary cells. New capillaries allow for more efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients and thus better health.

In summary, we are well aware that the efficient delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the organs and tissues is vital to optimal health. Thanks to scientists, we are now also aware that the best way to maintain our bodies intricate network of delivery -- the capilliaries -- and ultimately our good health, is by increasing the number of circulating adult stem cells in the blood steam.

Is inflammation preventing Adult Stem Cells from doing their job in your body?

This article looks at the natural renewal system of the body -- adult stem cells -- and the inflammatory process.

Inflammation, from the Latin word inflammatio meaning set on fire, is a process used by the body to protect itself. We mostly associate red, painful and swollen skin which has occurred after a bite or splinter with it and is commonly regarded as acute inflammation.

This process of inflammation is a necessary and vital one for health. Without it, the body would be unable to protect itself and initiate the assistance of white blood cells and the immune system. With all functions of the body, there needs to be balance, but unfortunately many people suffer from chronic inflammation.

Chronic inflammation differs from acute inflammation in that it is undetected, constant and happens silently in the background. It also causes disruption to the normal function of cells. Chronic inflammation then, is responsible for a whole range of health related problems.

The problems caused by chronic inflammation unfortunately do not end there. It appears that the bodies natural system of renewal -- adult stem cells -- is hampered by chronic inflammation. At the cellular level, chronic inflammation confuses the adult stem cells and makes it difficult for them to go where they're needed because it appears everywhere is signaling them. A good example would be trying to hear one person in a full stadium when everyone is shouting.

There are many causes of chronic inflammation such as environmental factors, genetics, general lifestyle and the presence of any pathogens. While some of these are hard to control, many are within our control. For example poor sleep, stress, bad diet and lack of exercise can all be improved.

An inflammatory diet is one that consists of saturated fats, trans fats, sweetener, alcohol, dairy, sodas, red meat, MSG, nuts, sugar and white flour. For many people, their diet consists entirely of these foods. An anti-inflammatory diet on the other hand, includes vegetables (leafy greens), fish and fish oil, flax seed, fruit (pineapple, mango, papaya), oats, seaweed, barley and olive oil. Changes to diet can significantly improve chronic inflammation for sufferers, but a simple way is to supplement with a concentrate of Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA).

AFA has a similar spectrum to wheatgrass and spiulina giving it anti-inflammatory properties, but unlike the others, also has the added effect of increasing the number of circulating stem cells in your bloodstream by 25% with just two capsules. This extra support is just the thing your natural repair system needs to maintain the balance between breakdown and renewal and may assist those suffering from chronic inflammation.

The latest object on the health and wellness horizon -- Adult Stem Cell enhancers

This article looks at the latest breakthrough for health and wellness -- Adult Stem Cell enhancers.

It's highly likely you've heard something about stem cells. They have been the subject of many headlines, especially the debate between embryonic and adult stem cells. The reason why this debate rages is because of the potential stem cells offer to renew and repair the body.

Research studies have shown that adult stem cells can become any other type of cell in the body. An example of this from the home would be a special type of putty. If I had a problem with the walk way, we put some putty there and it becomes the walk way. If we have a hole in the wall and put a piece of putty in the hole, it becomes part of the wall. In the body, an adult stem cell in the kidney will become new kidney cells. In this regard, we have found a way to renew all the different types of cells in the body.

This discovery as created a huge interest from the scientific community into stem cell research. Researchers are well aware of the potential health benefits from stem cells and have focused their efforts on how best to utilize them.

At this point, there are three approaches. The first approach is embryonic stem cells. Highly controversial, embryonic stem cells are taken from the very early embryo called the blastula. The ethical considerations and the results from studies using them, make embryonic stems cells less than ideal.

The second approach is adult stem cells harvested from the patient's bone marrow over a period of weeks, which are then reinjected into the patient. These clinics operate in China, Mexico and Russia for example, and cost approximately $15,000 per injection of 1.5 million stem cells.

The third approach, which is by far the most sensible, ethical and cost-effective is to enhance the natural release of our own adult stem cells.

Adult stem cells are present in our bone marrow and are responsible for the renewal of our cells from the day we are born until the day we die. Similar to other functions in the body, this natural release slows down with age. If our body cannot repair itself, then we will not experience optimal health, it's as simple as that.

We know this process slows because In children, the bone marrow is red, but in adults, the bone marrow in the long limbs for example, is predominantly yellow as it has been displaced by fat deposits over time. Adults still have red bone marrow, but in fewer places.

Enhancing the release of our own adult stem cells then can give us a new boast to offer friends. Many people are happy to report the heart health of a 20 year old after a trip to the doctor, but now with the aid of an adult stem cell enhancer, we can re-experience the renewal system we had as a child.

This stem cell enhancer -- a concentrate of an aqua botanical named AFA (aphanizomenon flos-aquae) -- was tested in a double-blind, peer reviewed clinical study and proven to increase the number of circulating adult stem cells in the blood stream by 25%. This equates to between three to 4 million stem cells for the average person.

The health implications of this study significant and will make stem cell enhancers the new antioxidants. Just as vitamins were popular, herbs were popular and juices were popular, stem cell enhancers promise to be the next big health and wellness breakthrough of our times.
